I have had 2 appointments with Dr Quinton. He has been very caring and professional each time. He allowed plenty of time for each appointment. He explained things thoroughly and allowed time to answer my questions. He went beyond the call of duty and telephoned me at home 5pm one Friday with advice for me.

Set out the options for treatment, but also gave a clear steer which I found more helpful than having to make my decision on my own. Dr is fine, when you get to see him. I had to wait 2 months from diagnosis to my first appointment (and start of treatment) which was very frustrating and meant I was off work far longer than I needed to be (I started back within two weeks of getting treatment). There can also be long waits in the clinic.

Unfortunately I am finding that these consultations are becoming more in-personel with the introduction of IT - more should be done in the positioning of equipment for refering to notes and aiding the doctor by reducing tasks with automation (moving blood results from one page to another, etc.). This would reduce the perception of the Consultant being more interested in the 'screen' than the patient when I believe he is clearly not, but is forced to address the 'screen' most of the time. This visit has highlighted a problem between my local GP's procedures changing for the introduction of 'electronic' blood sample details and the 'paper copy' utilised by my Consultant. The result was tests missed and others included when not needed. My opinion on the cause is the 'electronic' form at the GP's does not represent the 'paper' form.
